Welcome kind visitor.
May thy visit be pleasant and informative.
My name is Kimberly Anne Makela and I live with my family in northern Michigan.
We have a small farm
which we have worked for over 20 years and raised our children on. This web site, quakeranne.com,
is an extension of our life and the home of
my Christian Internet ministry of writing
children's stories based on life at our farm, as well my Christian spiritual essays.
It is also a place for me to share my Quaker journey, Christian faith and plain dress testimony as well
as share information thee might find useful about simple living.
A conservative plain Quaker by convincement, I am very grateful
for God’s guidance in my life to worship after the
manner of the Religious Society of Friends. Yet, I certainly don't
presume to be an authority on the Quaker faith in any of its many dimensions but attempt only to share my
evolving experience of Quakerism and how the Holy Spirit is leading in my life.
In sharing the story of my Christian journey of faith and plain dress testimony I hope to be of
encouragement to others who find themselves similarly called apart for Christ. Through the ministry of
my children's stories
I endeavour
to bring praise and glory to God and provide a safe, educational resource for children about life on a farm and the
miracle of creation.
My
Christian Encouragement
ministry is where I share audio recordings of biblical passages,
Christian inspirational writings as well as my own thoughts on issues that face all Christians in these
difficult and confusing times we live in.
I am also an instructor for the
Pioneer School
of Homesteading, an educational outreach ministry of Friends
in Christ, as well as a supporter of the Christian Homesteading School, a new foundation of fellow believers who
homestead with the heart of bringing attention to the glory of God's creation through sustainable agricultural
practices.
